Terms & Conditions for test and inspections

All inspection and testing jobs must be paid for, in full and in advance.

Payment can be made by credit card or cheque or online. If payment is made by cheque we require the cheque to clear before the inspection is carried out.

Remaining balances must be paid within the agreed time.

Unpaid balances will be noted appropriately and referred to county court and our collection companies.

The final report will be sent to you within 4 days of the inspection being carried out. If an appointment is cancelled less than 48 hours before the agreed appointment time then no refund will be made.

Inspection and tests costs must be paid whether the test has passed or failed.

After the report has been issued, if a re-inspection is required after works have been carried out, a further fee will be payable, based on the initial fee, less a 20% discount.

Our fees will be charged as stated in our charges page or pre-agreed amount and based on the information that you provide us. Should there be any difference between the information provided( i.e. in the Booking Form )and what we find when inspecting the electrical installation, then we reserve the right to charge you an additional sum, before the report is issued.

Note for Part P Certification

Part P certificate will be issued only to the installations, which have been inspected by Protectia during construction, and installation. If you call us for testing and inspection of a completed installation only a "Domestic Electrical Installation Periodic Inspection Report ( DPN3 )" will be issued.

No refund will be made if the certificate (DPN3) not accepted by authorities.

Based on Appendix D 1.4 of BS7671 only an assessed enterprise (i.e. NICEIC registered company ) is responsible for ensuring compliance with BS7671 : 2001 and all relevant building regulations.

On compliance of the work, the assessed enterprise is required to formally notify its Self – certification scheme in accordance with their procedure, who after checking competence to carry out the work will notify building control.

The person ordering the work should also receive a duly complete electrical installation certificate. The certificate must be made out and sign by the competence person.

All inspection and testing work carried out through Protectia and all matters arising from them are subject to English law and to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
